I cam across this amazing robot hand demonstration on youtube, it seems the more days go by the more technology makes a huge leap forward. Just check out the speed and dexterity of this hand and think what the rest of the body will be able to do!!
Have just seen that TomTom have finally developed a potentially killer piece of kit for the iphone, I like the TomTom systems and have used them on a PDA many years ago and currently have a unit for the car and have been waiting ages for them to release an app for the iphone. The GPS on the iphone is great for when you are walking down a street or being a co pilot but when you are alone in a car driving you really need clear voice instructions!!
OK compared to the other apps at itunes it’s a bit pricey at £60 for the tom tom application but to me it’s a no brainer as you don’t need an extra gadget in your car and it’s full portable and when you are not travelling hundred of miles you can be reading email, playing a song or taking a picture, I guess it’s one more tick on the list for the iphone !!
Oh and the car kit piece looks very good with built in GPS receiver and speaker also it will work on the ipod touch!!! and other units
Ok so there I was after a busy day in the office I jumped into my Cooper S with more toys on it than you would find in Hamley’s and headed home. Stuck in the usual 2 minute traffic jam I noticed the car in front which suddenly hit me, no not the car but the signs on the car and then I clicked I always see really old cars plastered with stickers with the following phrases
No doubt you will have seen them to, the people who owned the car I suspect were nice hard working people, but the problem I had was with the car. I mean really if you are making good money from a second income you would no doubt drive a newer vehicle to entice people to make that call to your number and sign up for whatever service product you are selling. Even if you are not making the money that your sticker proclaims and certainly the car was screaming the fact that it was not working then the best option I can think is go and lease one, if you are trying to impress go for the New BMW Z4 Lease deals Then when you are in front of me at the lights I will be calling you up to buy your service!!
2 years ago the first iphone appeared with more publicity than anything had seen before and people rushed out to have the shiny new phone. A year later they all rushed out to upgrade to the 3g version which is the unit I waited for as I thought Apple had done a reasonable job on the first unit but the second would be worth the wait.
Now 3 years later they have launched the 3gs with a faster processor and able to do video recordings. Personally having upgraded the software to iphone 3.0 I am still in love with the 3g version and see no point in rushing with the herd to the iphone shop to part with more cash.
However next Summer when they launch the 4th version with video calling etc, large memory and the networks are starting to upgrade from 3g to 4g capabilities well then I will be at the first of the Q camping out like you would see people who que up for days to get a ticket to see their favourite rock band!!
OK bit of an unusual post, but my father has announced he wants to sell off his excellent range of canon slr camera’s and darkroom equipment. Now as the whole world went digital 10 years ago I suspect the demand may be unusual.
If you come across this post and are interested in camera’s with film or producing your own pictures then contact me and I can let you know if he still has the equipment etc.

So imagine my surprise when I logged into facebook to see a pic of a person who was in my friends list and a trusted friend that I had a lot of respect for had deleted me from his friends list!! How ever with Facebook and it’s view your friends with these people and they are friends with these people so computer logic applied that you must be friends!!! The mutual friend count was 34 if you were wondering.
So remember if you are bitter and in the old fashioned way it’s my football and I ain’t playing and taking it home do the following.
login to facebook and go to settings and click privacy, do a search on the person that you have fallen out with this week in the big block a user box, find the right person and block them. Which saves me from looking at the same pic of the same childish person each time I login to facebook.
Oh and if you are the old facebook friend concerned feel free to drop round with the money you promised!

Having been brought up on canon camera’s over the years starting with a T-50 slr in the mid eighties and then moving on to a couple of sureshots for taking abroad on various holidays, to the digital IXUS range which have been overall great the first ixus had 3meg pixels and was not fantastic for high speed shots but then I upgraded to a 750 Ixus which has been fantastic, except for when the wife took it out and some ignorant woman at strictly come dancing show knocked it off her seat and cracked the TFT display, it still takes great pictures but is a real pain carrying your laptop every where to play them back and as I like to play around with the settings it’s annoying.
I did contemplate buying a new screen and installing myself, replacement screens are around £50 from ebay and with my knowledge I can easily replace the damaged unit, though these days it’s not worth taking to a professional shop and asking them to repair as the bill will come out more than it would be to buy a new version!!!
So hence after a short afternoon contemplating the Canon ixus 980is or the newer 990is Ixus which can record movies in High Definition!!!! I have opted for the Canon ixus 980is as the 990IS Ixus seems to have a few functions removed to make way for the HD recording and as I don’t have a High Def TV yet then I don’t seem the point of paying an extra £100 and losing some of the functions I like.
Finding prices are really varied £240 – £499 for the same camera!!! It’s not like they have bundled a load of extras to get to £499!!!
The cheapest provider I can find is amazon and I have checked all the price comparasion sites and looked at ebay with it’s hundreds of imports at a higher price than the UK stock!! Also check the real history on people and the story they tell, “won it as a prize, bought it on holiday as my camera was broke now I don’t need it, given it as a gift but prefer my nikon or slr” then go check there previous sales and ask them why they have sold 5 in the past 3 weeks!!
Amazon are selling the Canon ixus 980is for only £240 and if you buy before September 2009 you can claim a free case which seems to be getting good reviews, all you then need is a decent size memory card and these take the new SDHC versions which I have not used yet, I assume they have a good write speed as that is a common down fall in buying a cheap memory card!!!
Hosting packages are some times a complete and utter maze even to professional people who use them on a daily basis.
Some times a clean simple package and one that is cost effective, that’s why I use
